Luxury Program In New York

During Sophomore year over the summer I was apart of VCU’s Luxury Program. It was a month long program where I learned about luxury fashion branding and merchandising. I had the opportunity to work closely with teams from Verdura, Burberry, Hermès, Saks Off 5th, and Swarovski. Being able to step inside these iconic brands as well as learning what their marketing and sales team bring to their marketing strategy. I learned how important the brands history, storytelling, and the strategy with the level of care that goes into every decision.

Being immersed in luxury retail environments, learning from professionals who live and breathe this work made something click for me; It was this is what I love and want to do this for a career.

This program strengthened my passion for luxury marketing and merchandising and helped me see how much I value environments where creativity, heritage, and innovation come together.

During this experience I had the opportunity to see how every detail has a purpose, how brands build worlds that customers want to be apart of. How exclusive the luxury fashion is and how their target market is a very loyal customer. This environment made me feel very inspired and grew my interest in luxury fashion.

On Our free time we would go to other stores and shop or explore the stores, and meet with the store managers.
